Who's the Greenest?
Energy Star, Green-e, Blue Angel, ISO, FSC, SFI, PEFC, all sources for certifying sustainable practices – and organizations that weigh their relative merits – are multiplying exponentially. Which one is the right one?
Which one is making the largest impact?
Which one will be still be around in the next few years?
We can’t predict.
What we do know is that for the last twenty years conservation has been a normal part of Fowler’s culture. In 1996 we were awarded our first plaque for our recycling efforts, saving the destruction of 881 trees and saving over 155 cubic yards of valuable landfill space and have matched those results each year since.
Presently the Printing Industries of America is developing the criteria to define a sustainable green printer and procedures for receiving this designation. We feel the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) designation will be the criteria of the future for all printing companies. PIA will be accepting applications in March of this year and Fowler Printing & Graphics is looking forward to the formal review process and achieving the designation, SGP- A printer
for a Green Future.
